5 Minute Valentine’s Day Treat

Hola chicas! Today we are talking about a super easy and yummy cocomel pretzel treat that you can make in just five minutes (yes you read that right). I have always been a real sucker for Valentine’s Day, it is my mom’s birthday and so I think that has always made it seem extra special. Whether I have had a significant other or not, who doesn’t love an excuse to tell everyone you love them and eat a sh*t ton of chocolate? I’ll take that any day. For these treats I used trusty old JJ’s Cocomels of course (honestly they didn’t…

Salted Cocomel Mashed Sweet Potatoes (Vegan)

Ahhh Thanksgiving. Is there another day that is as warm and family centric in the year? Every year my dad invites over our entire family for a huge Thanksgiving feast, we are talking 45 people dinners here, and every year it is even more fun than the last. There is family football, football on TV (go niners!), drinks, music and of course, tons of food. Looking Fresh For the Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is one of my all time favorite holidays (yes I know, every holiday is my favorite holiday, cut me some slack alright) and I always feel so nostalgic for years past when I celebrate it. We are thinking BBQ, firecracker popsicles, actual firecrackers (are those legal in Ohio?) and some brewskies. Does it get any more American than…

Fourth of July Fruit Pizza (Vegan)

As I stated on Monday, I am eagerly awaiting the Fourth of July. Why? Because I am a patriot dammit….oh and also because FOOD. I love barbeques, which is probably a weird thing for a vegan to say, but it is just so much fun to spend time outside with friends, drinking beer and raising hell, so throwing in an open flame with food on it just seems natural. This year since we are actually in the country (unlike last year) I wanted to make something new and particularly special. In the past I have loved baking a vanilla sheet…

Cinnamon Redhot Shortbread

Valentine’s day is indeed upon us and in all of its heartfelt, lovey-dovey glory. To be honest I have always been a lover of Valentine’s Day, even when I was single, because it is my mom’s birthday and she loves to celebrate it! To get into the “holiday” spirit,  I am (not shockingly) baking up a storm and this magical little treat totally caught my eye. I am a big fan of Hot Tamales, or really anything spicy for that matter (I sometimes eat jalapenos out of the jar) and let me say that it did not disappoint. I used…
