My Zero Waste Shopping Kit

As many of you know, a year ago A and I took a big leap and moved to Austin, Texas from Columbus, Ohio. We knew one person here, and had no real idea what we were getting ourselves into….mostly we were just eternal summer children chasing the sun. Truth be told, I think moving here was the second best decision of my entire life (next to marrying A…cue cheesy “awww’s”). Austin is the most unique place I have ever lived (and that includes Santa Cruz, San Francisco AND New York) because it is filled with a plethora of interesting folks.…

D.I.Y. All Natural // Windex

A few months back, A and I moved into our first home and it was magical. Well, for us it was anyways. For some I guess you could say it was an absolute nightmare. Our house was very affordable and you could say it fell into the category of a “fixer upper”. Vajayjay Talk // Diva Cup Review

About a year ago, I shared with you the wonder of Thinx underwear, in one of my most popular posts of all time. Apparently you guys are open books like me and really like talking about the #NotEw topic of vagina care. This will not be a routinely posted series, but as topics arise I will do my best to cover them and if you have any ideas of things you…

D.I.Y. Your Own Recycling Station

When it comes to recycling, I can be a bit of a control freak. Like yelling at strangers in public to pick up their recyclables kind of control freak….it is seriously bad. I don’t know, I just can’t just handle the fact that people are too lazy to do one little thing that takes two seconds, when the impacts are so serious. I am however, a little more lenient in my understanding of why people fail to recycle complicated things such as light bulbs and ink cartridges. Now I am by no means saying that recycling those items is not…

Change One Thing // Show the Bees Some Love

Image via Hello friends and happy Friyay!!! Whoo-hoo we made it (why is it that short work weeks sometimes feel the longest?)! This week has been absolutely nuts for me, but equally awesome! I got to participate in a letter writing campaign for Planned Parenthood, a tree planting with Keep Austin Beautiful, and I got to do some awesome environmental grant research for the National Wildlife Federation. Plus we have so many exciting things happening right here at Something Swell Media, but we will get to those later (seeecretsss *insert winky face emoji here*). Anyways, today we are talking about…
