D.I.Y. All Natural “Windex”

A few months back, A and I moved into our first home and it was magical. Well, for us it was anyways. For some I guess you could say it was an absolute nightmare. Our house was very affordable because, to put it lightly, it had never been cleaned. The house isn’t terribly old, built in 1995, but it literally looked like it had never been cleaned. It also had a puke green kitchen, some holes in the wall and moldy laminate floors, but we’ll get to that later. Anyways, one of the first things I wanted to do was…

Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts (Vegan) + Eco-Friendly Bakeware!

As you all know, I am a huge Pinterest freak (this week we I finally hit 15,000 followers)! Anyways, bragging aside, I find that Pinterest is the perfect place for scatterbrained creative types like me to organize our thoughts and ideas into easy to locate boards. It is also a great place for me to be able to pick up on key trends before they get huge. D.I.Y. Your Own Recycling Station

When it comes to recycling, I can be a bit of a control freak. Like yelling at strangers in public to pick up their recyclables kind of control freak….it is seriously bad. I don’t know, I just can’t just handle the fact that people are too lazy to do one little thing that takes two seconds, when the impacts are so serious. I am however, a little more lenient in my understanding of why people fail to recycle complicated things such as light bulbs and ink cartridges. Now I am by no means saying that recycling those items is not…

Keeping My Skin Happy With Aveda

When A and I first moved to Ohio, it was the only time in our lives that we had encountered truly cold weather. Don’t get me wrong, snowboarding is my favorite sport and I was up in the snow as often as possible growing up. But midwest cold? It is a whole different animal than California “cold”. Ohio was pretty much unbearable for me 11 months out of the year. The winters started in late October, and continued clear through April – we decided to move when we got back from a trip in April and the ground had a foot of…

Rose Petal Bath Bombs D.I.Y.

There is nothing I love more than receiving a surprise bouquet of roses. It is sweet, thoughtful, and it makes the house smell great and feel amazingly homey. The only problem is that I can be a seriously nostalgic person, and parting with said flowers once they’ve reached their expiration date can leave me feeling blue. Not to mention I have a total phobia of wasting anything so I get way bummed composting flowers. That is why this year I decided to find a way to utilize my Valentine’s Day flowers as much as possible. I will be posting this…
