Complete Toiletries Kit – Free Downloadable Checklist!

To say that things have been crazy lately is a bit of an understatement. Not only are we in the process of moving to Austin Texas. but we also have been traveling like crazy! And as much fun as being a jetsetter is, it is also totally exhausting and things have seemed very chaotic. As someone who thrives in a highly organized environment, I have found myself struggling a little bit to remain on top of everything.

This happened to us last time we went through a crazy travel phase in February. As far as I can remember, our flight left at 5am and I was waiting to pack my toiletries and makeup until I had used them in the morning. Yup. You guessed it. I left everything on the counter in our bathroom and did not realize it until we landed in Puerto Vallarta. Lucky for us they have drugstore in Mexico, but had we been going to a yoga retreat in Thailand or something, it could have been bad.

That is why I came up with the obvious conclusion, to make a ready to go toiletry bag with everything we need inside. No more waiting until the morning to pack or wondering if I will need dry shampoo (I should know by now that the answer is always “yes”). And the best part? Aside from purchasing this super affordable and shockingly roomy Foldable Toiletry Bag, I spent zero dollars getting this bag ready!  Instead of buying all the mini travel sized products that are not only outlandishly expensive, but also a waste of plastic, I made my own! Read on below for the ultimate travel cosmetic bag checklist.

Body Wash – I put some of my Body Shop body wash into an old dry shampoo container!
Body Lotion – I got this travel sized Philosophy Lotion as a honeymoon gift and have been refilling it.
Headband/Hair Ties/Bobby Pins – You never know when you’ll need them!
Perfume or Body Spray – Yes I use Fierce. Shut up, it’s nostalgic.
Spare Contact Lenses – I once lost a contact on my first day of spring break and spent the next 5 days with only one functioning eye. Don’t be me. Bring spare lenses and if your eyes are different prescriptions be sure to label left and right in sharpie.
Contact Lense Solution
Deodorant – I love Schmidt’s all natural Lavender & Sage deodorant.
Makeup Remover Wipes – I got these as a gift and the packaging is a bit wasteful, when they  run out I will probably just keep my bulk Yes To Cucumber Face Wipes in a sealed baggie.
Face Wash – I just use a beauty balm when I travel because planes make my skin dry.
Sunscreen – Bring a facial sunscreen for daily use and if you are going to be outdoors a lot bring a big bottle too.
Contact Lense Case – I love this stupid cute Hello Kitty one 🙂
Eye Cream – Nice for reducing puffy eyes from your red-eye.
Floss Picks
Shaving Razor
Dry Shampoo – Always nice to have on hand (especially when you get off of the plane!)
Hairspray – I always think I won’t need hairspray, but it is nice to have even if it is just for taming flyaway hairs.
Bandaids – I keep both the blister and the regular (in this case Star Wars themed) varieties in my bag.
Tampons – Unless you have your period panties packed!
Shampoo/Conditioner – I refill these hotel bottles with our R+Co Shampoo.
Cotton Balls – Helpful for applying toner.
Toothpaste – I refill this mini tube I got from my dentist with our Tom’s toothpaste.
Moisturizer – I love the Aveda Relief Moisturizer.
Tweezers – You never know when a sneaky eyebrow hair will pop out of the woodwork.
Nail File/Clippers
Ibuprofen – I am not a big pill popper, but this is good to have for emergencies.
Toner – I use witch hazel in this recycled bottle I got from one of my Blue Apron meals.
Biore Pore Strips – I think the packaging is wasteful, but I keep one in there for pore emergencies.
Face Mask – Again, wasteful packaging, but if my skin gets insane they are nice to have on hand.
Beauty Rag or Washcloth
