Cutting Down on Shopping Waste with BAGGU + a Giveaway!!! **CLOSED**

BAGGU GIVEAWAY A special congratulations to our winner Sarah!
Β

When it comes to shopping waste reduction, I am always trying to think of new ways to cut down. An interesting fact to take note of, in most parts of California you have to pay for paper or plastic bags when you purchase things at the grocery store. This got me into the habit of bringing my own bags when I entered college and man, did I notice a huge difference in how much garbage accumulated in my home. Now that I live in Ohio I am always baffled by everyone’s blank stares when I say that I brought my own bag or that I would just prefer to hand carry my items out to save paper. Sure you can recycle those plastic/paper bags, but soooo much of what we think we are recycling ends up not getting recycled at all. It is so unfortunate and in order to make the biggest impact, I have teamed up with the company BAGGU to share their amazing line of super durable reuseable bags!

BAGGU was started by a Parson’s graduate and her mother and they create high quality bags that are perfect for every occasion. I always keep one in my purse because they are so small and come with their own pouch that you can hardly even tell they are in there! This means that every time you have to run to the store for a quick thing after work (like picking up avocados or makeup etc.) you don’t need to get a plastic bag and you don’t have to try and cram them in my purse to save plastic (I did that once with an avocado and it did not work out so great…).

MESH BAGGIE

Oh and I happened to have saved the best for last, we are giving away one free bag to a lucky reader! You have your choice of any of the nylon bags seen in the image above – sorry but I cannot part with the pink mesh one since it is my new best friend. To enter, all you need to do is comment below with your email and say what your favorite bag is, also be sure to follow along on Instagram!

Giveaway ends Monday May 16th at 7pm EST. Winner will be notified via email and announced in an update post! πŸ™‚ Good luck! xx

Also if you see a bag that you simply cannot live without when you check out the BAGGU website, be sure to use offer code “SOMETHINGSWELL” at checkout for an extra 15% off, but hurry! This offer ends 5/11!

Boulder county in Colorado charges for plastic/paper bags too! I bring my own as well, and am always on the lookout for cute reusable grocery bags or totes πŸ™‚

I love it when I see people bring their own bags in to the grocery store! This practice has growing popularity in Houston. I bought some bags with cute animal prints, that were made from recycled plastic. I don't remember the name of the brand, but it's based out of Australia. And I love them! I eat lunch at the Whole Foods buffet pretty often, and notice how the people who bring their own bags always seem to walk out with big smiles on their faces, happy to be doing something good for the environment πŸ™‚ Baggu on!
